Warbling Hydrangeas

Turning Over a New Leaf

I'm having to make some serious changes in the kinds of paintings I do from now on.  My eyesight isn't working properly anymore, so to create my paintings, I need to make big splatters of paint that will shape the entire layout, then go over each square inch under a huge magnifying glass to fix and correct everything.  I needed to develop and a very strange and special canvas for this new work, and after several months of pulling my hair out, I finally found just the right combination to create the magic.

Seeing Spots
Smell of Spring
Strawberry Delights
The new canvases now have a very smooth and silky surface that allows me to fiddle to my heart's content.  It's almost like painting on china, but so much better-the surface grabs and holds the paint while still allowing me to do everything that china painting allows.  Awesome!  Even though painting is terribly slow for me now, at least I'm able to get back to painting, and life feels good again.

If you think you might be interested in checking out my new canvases and the new techniques that go with them, let me know.  I'll see if I can get brave enough to do some videos on my never ending art explorations and discoveries.  I'm sure that once I do the first video I'll be hooked and will never be able to stop putting them out there for everyone.  It's been one of my dreams for years.
